Sacred Contract Charts

Completing a two-year CMED (Caroline Myss Education Division) Archetypes and Sacred Contract Course in September 2004, Leslie is listed on the Myss web site as a Myss trained Archetypal Consultant. Leslie can work with individuals helping find archetypes that will help identify personal contracts and interpret the archetypes once on the charts.

A contract is your overall relationship to your personal power and your spiritual power. It is how you work with your energy and whom you give it to. Although a contract is not the physical details of your life, you can use those details to figure out what your contract is with the assistance of your archetypes.

Archetypes are the architects of your life and energy guides that can direct you toward your spiritual purpose and your contract. They are the energy fields through which you can learn to understand yourself as well as your contract. We each have twelve archetypes, four that are common to everyone (called survival archetypes), and eight that are chosen by the individual. The survival archetypes symbolize our major life challenges and how we choose to survive and maintain our self-esteem. Together they represent the issues, fears, and vulnerabilities that cause us to give our spiritual power away, and sometimes our physical power as well. In becoming more familiar with these four archetypes, they can become our most treasured allies in preventing us from giving away our power. For example, the prostitute archetype can SHOW us how we are prostituting ourselves in world, whether it is in a job or even in a marriage or other important relationship. For more comprehensive information about the survival archetypes, see "Sacred Contracts", by Caroline Myss (page 110).

Working with your archetypes involves seeing your life in symbols at the center of a broad universal picture. The energies of these archetypes can help us understand ourselves and can lead us to a profound understanding of our purpose and bring our Sacred Contract into our conscious awareness.

Chart interpretation does not have to be done in person. Once your archetypes are cast into the houses, you can send that information to me and I can do the interpretation and send it back to you via email, fax or snail mail.

Casting the Archetypes Into Houses

“By coming to know your mission, you can live your life in a way that makes best use of your energy. When you are working well with your energy, you are also making the best expression of your personal power. I call this living in accord with your Sacred Contract.” ~~ Caroline Myss, “Scared Contracts”

Chart of Origin

The Chart of Origin is cast on the Chronos aspect of the archetypal wheel. (see chart below) The Archetypal Wheel is a circle divided into 12 houses, parallel to the astrological wheel. To help you discover, understand, and fulfill your Sacred Contract, you have been given a support team of twelve archetypes, ancient and universal patterns of behavior drawn from the collective unconscious of humanity. After choosing your archetypes, they are placed in the astrological houses. Interpretation of the chart is then available. The goal of this chart is to allow you to move past the contract your ego would like, to the contract your soul actually agreed to in this lifetime. There are several different charts available. See the sample chart below. See “Services” for cost of each chart interpretation.

The Archetypal Wheel is in PDF(Portable Document Files)format. To read these you need to have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. Most people already have it installed on their computers. If you do not, you can download it free. Click here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Guidance Chart

This chart reflects the archetypal energy that is present in the moment you are casting it. In this chart you are open to receiving guidance on a specific issue. In formulating questions it is best to begin with “I am open to receiving guidance or receiving insight of some kind." Sample questions for this chart are:

  1. I am open to receiving guidance about why I block my creativity.
  2. I am open to receiving guidance about my fears of losing money.
  3. I am open to receiving one healing insight about my stress patterns and this illness.

Decision Chart

This is a chart that will give you a yes or no answer about a question that you asking in the moment. You may need a quick hit, a yes or a no, to move forward in your life. With this chart you will use only the four survival archetypes, Child, Prostitute, Saboteur, and Victim, plus two more archetypes from your Chronos Chart to assist you with this question. These 6 archetypes are then cast into houses and the interpretation made from there.

Life Contract Overview Chart – Includes all 3 wheels

This is a comprehensive chart that contains 36 archetypes in all. These wheels are cast when you are seeking guidance on a particular area of your life and want to create archetypal complexes, or triads, groups of three archetypes that fall within the same house on each of the three wheels. These triads offer an even greater depth of nuance and insight in to the matter for which you are seeking guidance than does a single wheel. The first wheel is the chart of origin or the Chronos Wheel. The second wheel, called the Kairos Wheel, and contains archetypes that in some way have remained in the background of your life, not playing an active role but appearing only on occasion. You will select them based on your feelings about which archetypal patterns are relevant in the moment that you are casting your chart. The third chart is the Cosmic Wheel, which contains the archetypes that the Divine chooses for you in a given moment of guidance. You will select the Cosmic archetypes entirely at random.

The Life Contract Overview Chart is the most complex chart, taking several hours to interpret. Therefore is the most costly chart to have done. See “Services” for the fee involved in interpretation of this 3 wheel chart.

Choosing Your Archetypes

Step One

If you have the Archetype Cards® by Caroline Myss, published by Hay House, you can use those in choosing your archetypes. If not, see “Archetypal Gallery” in links section in the upper left of this page to choose your Archetypes.

Go through the archetypes and choose the ones that are part of your nature on a consistent basis, not for just a few years or under certain circumstances, or only with a few people, but consistently seem to be a part of who you are in this lifetime. A good rule in general when choosing your archetypes is that they must represent characteristics that are continually at work in several areas of your life. Use your own intuition and “gut instinct” in choosing your archetypes. Good questions to ask while choosing archetypes are: Why did I choose this archetype? In What way do I feel this archetype serves my Contracts with other people? How do you serve my Contracts with other people? Insights and connections will come in this process of asking that will feel right and true. If you have a difficult time answering these questions with a particular archetype, then you might want to put that one aside and move on, coming back to that one later.

Casting the Archetypes Into Houses

Once you have chosen your 8, (12 including the 4 survival archetypes) cut out 24 pieces of paper about two inches by three inches. On each of the 12 slips, write the name of one of your 12 archetypes. On the other 12 slips write the numbers one through twelve, one number on each slip of paper. Place the archetypes and the numbers in two different stacks, face down.

Step 2: Intuitive Focus

After centering yourself again, or using the longer meditation in Sacred Contracts, shuffle the two stacks of paper, being careful to keep them separate. As you shuffle the stack of archetypes, ask, “In which houses do these archetypes best serve me?” Your intention creates a magnetic circuit that will direct the archetypes to their appropriate houses as you work with them in Step 3.

Step 3: Intuitive Choice

Picture yourself as a “hollow reed” transmitting energy. Keeping the slips face down, choose one from each pile: a number and an archetype. Each number corresponds to the house in to which that archetype should go. Write the name of that archetype in to the numbered house on your wheel. If you chose the number five and the Victim card for example, your Victim archetype belongs in the fifth house of your wheel. Continue this exercise until all 12 houses are filled. Once the archetypes are situated in a house on the wheel the interpretation can be made.

Chart interpretation does not have to be done in person. Once your archetypes are cast into the houses, you can send that information to me and I can do the interpretation and send it back to you via email, fax or snail mail.
